Stay Warm & Well Campaign

Stay Warm & Well Campaign

South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) are launching their Stay Warm & Well this Winter campaign to support our most vulnerable residents through the coldest months.

SGC have teamed up with Warm & Well from Severn Wye and Age UK South Gloucestershire and together will be offering help and advice with energy and food bills and making sure residents are getting any benefits they are entitled to. Long term sustainable support is also available including new boilers and insulation, energy efficient light bulbs and hygrometers which measure the humidity in homes.

Support is available to all residents, but the campaign aims to reach pensioners, as older people can be especially vulnerable to cold weather. They will be working with partners to reach pensioners and want to ensure those who are eligible are claiming Pension Credit.

The Stay Warm & Well this Winter campaign will be launched during the week commencing 4 November with three information events at their One Stop Shops in Kingswood, Patchway and Yate, from 9am-12pm.

• Tuesday 5 November, Kingswood One Stop Shop

• Thursday 7 November, Patchway One Stop Shop

Friday 8 November, Yate One Stop Shop

As part of the campaign, the council will also be giving out 1,000 free warm packs to residents struggling with energy and heating costs. The packs, funded through the government's Household Support Fund, contain hats, socks, hand warmers, blankets and hot water bottles and will be available at a number of locations. Details will be available shortly on the SGC cost of living help page.
